While the national suicide rate dropped 3% between 2017 and 2020, a recent study found that “More police officers died by suicide in 2020 than in the line of duty, and suicides among firefighters and EMTs increased between 2017 and 2020.”

Pain Behind the Badge trainers Clarke and Traci Paris are well known in the U.S. for bringing their many years of law enforcement (Clarke) and medical (Tracie) experience to the topic of first responder health and well being. They offer solutions to help first responders cope with the effects of witnessing and experiencing traumatic events in the line of duty.
