MARCH 2021 in Prevention

Happy almost spring to you all,

We have permission to go back to “hybrid” meetings this month. That means we can be in person here at the Public Health office with the option to attend over Zoom from your work or home. PLEASE let me know asap if you are coming to a lunch meeting so I get an accurate number to Emi.

Please do have a look at the minutes and the agendas attached below if you have a minute. They tell the story of what we are up to, and of current events, such as the radical spike in DUI arrests in Sublette County, and how the average blood alcohol content in those arrests are currently the highest in the state. That’s a lot of alcohol on our roads. Another current event we are closely watching is HB0209, a bill introduced on March 2 to legalize recreational marijuana in Wyoming. Your interest and your involvement in these issues keeps prevention moving forward in Sublette County, thank you for all you do!

Here’s what’s happening in the prevention calendar for March:

Monday, March 1: Suicide Prevention Task Force: This group had an excellent meeting with Sheriff Lehr, who presented 10 years of data on suicide in Sublette. The meeting minutes are attached below. Please read!

Tuesday, March 9: Alcohol Task Force, 12 - 1 pm, in person at Public Health and online over Zoom. Lunch included, RSVP required for lunch!
